Faculty of Adhunik Vidya :: Department of Social Science (Samajik Vigyan)

Department of Samajika Vijnana (Department of Social Science) is actually not a traditional name of any particular department. Under the modern university system, some important optional subjects have been introduced up to the graduate level in the syllabi of the University. Therefore, this department has been established to teach these modern subjects. Students have to select any one from these subjects. This department consists of four disciplines, namely Economics, Tibetan History, Political Science and Asian History.

Ongoing Research Works

Dr. D. R. Singh of Economics is working on 'Economics of Caring: A Buddhist Approach". Dr. M. P. S. Chandal of Political Science has taken up a project on the Ayodhya Issues. The book "Institutions of Dalai Lama", authored by Dr. P. K. Sanyal of the Political Science was published recently. It is getting larger acceptance worldwide. Dr. Kaushlesh Singh of Asian History is carrying on a translation work of Political History of Tibet. Dr. Jampa Samten of Tibetan History has taken up a project on the "Tibetan Iconography".
